Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Looking for baptism of Ann Campin c1609

In case you're not aware, the two churches stood no more than a couple of yards away from each other.  One had a vicar, the other a rector.  The remnants of the wall of All Saints can still be seen in the churchyard, and St Vigor is now known as St Vigor with All Saints.

Berkshire Completed Look ups / census query ...

I've just found an entry stating 'N K Berkshire'.  Now, not coming from the Berkshire area myself, can someone enlighten me as to what the 'N K' stands for please?

Thanks.

Glad I could be of assistance! - don't forget that if you inquire at the Metropolitan Archives, you could probably find out *why* he was admitted...

... and assuming that the workhouse we're talking about in the one at 48 Vanbrugh Hill, Greenwich, it was also an infirmary.  My wife's grandfather was born there in 1916 ... his mother apparently using *her* mother's maiden name.

It doesn't appear that anyone has replied to this, but as I live in Fulbourn, I'll have a look in the cemetery next time I'm in the area.  I might also be able to find out from the villages' history society.  Can you confirm the surname ... Haynes?

The 1911 census states that William & Charlotte (Wisbech) were married in 1894 (married 17 yrs). That would preclude the Charlotte Peck that died in 1893.

Like I said - a puzzle
I'll need to give some more thought to the possible 1871 link and draw some possible connections

Just looked a bit more; the reason I couldn't understand (or misunderstood) the 1871 entry quoted was that 1) the Charlotte (1812) is actually 'Caroline' , and I didn't realise there are actually 2 households in one!  So it could be a decent lead. - the only thing that bothers me is the apparent disappearance of Frederick and Elizabeth by 1881 - although I concede that they could have died.

Waiting on Rose's birth certificate (should contain the same info as Henry's - and it's Rose's I'm interested in ... she is (apparently) the link.

btw - anyone know how to find out about Barnado's boys?
