Hi Everyone, thanks for all the info. The family of Peter Braid Smith and Jane Foote as to the information I have: Victoria is where they immigrated to on Sir Robert Sale ship, there daughter Jane was born on the ship in June 1850.Certificates for Victoria are very informative so gave give me a good start. On birth certificates info is as follows.
Children's names are Jane, Thomas, Catherine Creighton, Peter Braid, James Foote,William Graham,Margaret Creighton.
On Jane Smith died Oct 1 1904 the certificate said her fathers name was Thomas and mother Jean maiden name unknown. As we know death cert can be not very correct as far as to mother info.
Information given on William's birth cert is:  Peter born Murroes age 37 Married Feb 1850 Dundee, all other children names and ages , mother Jane maiden name Foot, age 38  birthplace Dundee.Looking further I found all the children's marriages and death certificates with more info. this is when I found the second names foote, graham creighton braid. I have located Peter's birth records.
I had not found Jane's birth records so will add that to it. Census I looked vainly no luck.
This West Aussie is very thankfull for all the help you are coming up with.

Hi Kris, yes wyanga has been in contact passing inof on.The Courier ship "time arrival" and birth reg is unusual. I am in WA and if can sight the certificate at WAGS here I will. Will ring them.Catherine Fleming nee Robinson is the connection,. Family stories distort the picture some time. I thought I would try (somehow) and try to find Robert Robinson's will. Perhaps that would give more info about him??.
If you can sight the birth cert that would be fantastic, Iwill let you know if I am able to go in check it.

thanks a lot for your reply so promptly

Hi,could someone advise the date on a registered date of a birth certificate for august 30 1850,the child's name is Arthur robinson. we are wondering how long the registration was after his birth as their is confusion on where the Courier came from eg melbourne and then to adelaide. One other member has been working on the robinsons as we both have a direct ancestor.
thanks
