If you press the ALT + SPACE keys together it should bring up the systems box which has the option to maximise the screen you are looking at. Hopefully clicking maximise will restore your screen to full size.

I have since found that William de Punterleya made a charter in 1093 in which he granted the manor of Bodfari to the monks of St Werburgh in Chester. From this I also think that the name was probably Norman in origin.

The Calderdale From Weaver to Web site has this book, here is a link:

http://www.rootschat.com/links/0z1u/

Richard Peck of Southowram 3rd March 1439. It starts on page 12 of the reader (page 8 in the book) and continues onto the next page.

I would have thought that there is likely to be a family connection if he was left property in a will

It is confusing. Not helped by there being three Shibden Halls. There is the one near Stump Cross then there are or were Upper and Lower Shibden Halls near to Catherine Slack. I think that Upper Shibden Hall may also be known as Old Shibden Hall.

I can recommend Malcolm Bull's Calderdale Companion website which may help http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~calderdalecompanion/

You could also try the Yorkshire Surname List

If your video looks ok but theirs doesn't are you sure that the problem isn't at their end? Is the problem with only one other person's videos or with several?

Technical Help / Re: Free Avast 2014 and Windows 8.1
« on: Wednesday 19 March 14 12:26 GMT (UK)  »
I have had Avast on several PC's, only for XP however but my son has Windows 8.1 with Avast. So far we have had no problems.
I did use AVG previously but gave up on it after several false positives caused it to delete files or refuse to allow me to install programs.

Technical Help / Re: Urgent - laptop startup problem.
« on: Saturday 08 March 14 15:23 GMT (UK)  »
I found a Microsoft page which mentions something similar:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-7-boots-to-an-unresponsive-black-screen/88cab12b-6977-4d47-bb0e-f6b6c7642e7e

They suggest pressing F8 at boot then go into repair tools and do a system restore to your last restore point.
