An 1888 Victorian PO Directory (Wise) has a Mrs Isabella Bell residing at 18 Urquhart St Ballarat, but no Robert.

An 1892 Melbourne Sands Directory has a Mrs Isabella Bell residing at 215 Cecil St South Melbourne, but no Robert again.

May not by your Isabella.

Good morning,

You may know this already, another Roots site has some early history of the Mt Barker District and it mentions a Duncan McFarlane and a Lachlan McFarlane who was related to Duncan (didn't say how related but Lachlan built the hotel and was a farmer like Duncan).

The Hahndorfwiki site has a brief mention of publican and farmer Lachlan McFarlane Marrying Louisa Lubasch .

http://hahndorf.wikispot.org/HahndorfLittlehampton

Probably brothers!

On Dec 22nd 1844 a Mr & Mrs Mason with 2 children left Sydney on the Brig Dorset bound for Adelaide.

The right name but probably too early considering the children birth dates.
