Westmorland Lookup Requests / Re: Baptism at Clifton near Penrith

Hi Annette

That's so disappointing, thank you so much for looking. I've found nothing in the British Newspapers either. It seems a bit odd his father's occupation was sailor living near Penrith.

Hi Annette7

The 1851 census at a place called Cargo just nw of Carlisle. Aged 30 and born in Clifton Westm'd.
The 1861 census at place called High Pow, Upperby south of Carlisle. Aged 41 born in Clifton Cumb'd.

He was dead by 1871 and of course the 1841 doesn't help.

His marriage certificate states his father was William Mounsey (sailor) too.

Thanks

Westmorland Lookup Requests / Baptism at Clifton near Penrith

Hi

I hoping someone would be kind enough to look for a baptism of a William Mounsey son of William Mounsey who was born at Clifton, Westmorland between 1818 - 1822. I'm hoping it will name his mother.

Cheers

Thank you hol

Yes I did have those already but good to have the independant confirmation. Interestingly the 1871 census is a real oddity with so many errors e.g. William Charles is recorded as two separate children and there's no record of a Louisa. My feeling is the correct 1871 census should be:

1871.
John Hugh 1830 Wales (I have Marr Cert)

Jane 1830 Wales
Mary 1854 Wales
Robert Owen Jones 1856 Wales (I have Birth Cert)
John Henry 1858 Liverpool (I have Birth Cert)
William Charles 1860 Liverpool (I have Birth Cert)

I don't know who got it so wrong John Hugh or the enumberator (probably the former)

Sorry I've gone off track with my initial iquery  ;D

Thank you John for looking that up. Yes Lewis was deceased by 1888 but I hoped there was just an outside chance he was still in the rolls if he'd only died relatively recently. The trouble is his occupation was a mariner so he could be literally be anywhere on the planet  :'( and of course Lewis could have died at anytime from conception to the wedding.  ::) Robert was 32 and Mary was 31.

Thanks again

Hi

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with a relatively simple look up request.

Robert Jones and Mary Jones who were married in 1888 at Christ Church, Kensington, Liverpool. The certificate states they were both living at 57 Minto Street. They are not there in 1881 or 1891 censuses.

I'm hoping that the electoral rolls for that address will show either Robert Jones or Mary's father Lewis Jones.

Fingers crossed

Kind Regards
