Looking for any connections to Thomas Butterworth, who we think lived in Ohio from abt 1913+, Could be springfield.

Thomas Butterworth was Born abt 1877.

A big Big Big Thank You.

Do i owe you any petrol money etc if I do let me know.

I must say I hate this family as far as research has been its been a nightmare.
As you say the Register entry is the same as the IGI entry and the duplicate entry does not help much and also no entry for a Husband.

Up to now I have not found a death or a marriage for Jane.

There was a whisper in the family of a name change from Collings to Collins and in the Census it matches to the Birth Date and Area.

Big Thank you for your offer.

I would like to find the Registration of the Birth or Baptism of Thomas Collins at the Wesleyan Church Heptonstall, I think would be entered under 1824 but it could be 1823.

I have never seen one of these entries but from a couple of books I have it should be possible to extract the following information:-

Date of Birth / Batism
First Name
Parents first and last name
abode/address
proffesion
who performed the ceremony.

Sometimes there is additional information but being sure of the Parents will be a good start.

If you could have a look for me that would be brillant.

Hi Lyn,

Dont know how much you know, but my understanding is that POST 1837 all information for BDM is in the GRO.

I am looking for pre 1837 so my first port of call is the IGI http://www.familysearch.org/,  "Thats where I gleaned some of my info" but it only has basic info.

I need access to the Parish Registers for the Church, I am not sure where they are, they could be Archived in Wakefield or Halifax, A local Family history group might have done an Extract and indexed it ???, Someone might have a CD of inforemation that has been pre indexed, or found a web site.

Thanks for the offer but I dont think its a matter of going to the local Vicar, somebody might be able to point me in the right direction.

A good book on the subject is Tracing Your Family Tree by Jean Cole

Hi,

I have been able to trace the family back to a Thomas Collins, born in Heptonstall around 1823, He married a Elizabeth Whitaker on 11 July 1845.

I am now stumped with tracing Thomas futher back ?
