Hope your book has lots of pictures  ;D ;D ;D, Many books picture some and just give descriptions of others, especially variations of badges.

I have just received this from my cousin. He "inherited" some old photos from an elderly aunt who lived up the rd somewhere until the 50s. Our Granny's family came from Sidley and Hastings originally.

This is North Row from no 17 upwards, he thinks, so no 11 is 3 houses down to the right. The rd now starts with no 7 and the police stn was just down a bit further.

The army do not have telegraphists, they have signallers whose badge is crossed signal flags. Telegraphists are a navy trade and Australia used British trade badges. Unfortunately Kay99s badge is pictured upside down, the wing tips should point up whether RN or RAN.
