Guernsey isn't part of England, GB or UK.
So you need the records held in Guernsey.

Records will likely be at The Priaulx Library.

My mother was one of twins. Her sister was a stillbirth, but is included in my family tree.
More for the twins aspect, as we are proud of the4 successive generations of twins in the family!

Have you tried Philip's Park, Miles Platting?
There are Catholic sections there.

I have Amy Woodhead Boyack on the 1921 census and the 1939 census but I am struggling for information curing the period between 1916 and 1921.

There wasn't a census in 1939! ;)
A census is a snapshot of the population on a single night.
The 1939 National Register was used, and updated, by the NHS until the 1990's.

Did you use the 'Preview' button to see how your last post turned out?

Preview is not a spell-checker! ;)

Why would she change her name "officially"?
People in the UK were able to call themselves anything they liked; just as long as it wasn't for the purposes of deception or fraud.

I believe that because you aren't related to the adopted person, you will not be allowed to order the original certificate.
