Pam I believe William Wade (the last born of the family) returned to UK and remained there.  Do you agree with this?  There was anor William & Mary Wade in Gawler at the same time (property owners) and no doubt they likewise called a son William.  I am not sure if I have retained any notes but he married in SA (Hodge or something - its a few years since I researched) and a few people have suggested he is Mary Barden's son but I disagree.  I have not been able to trace my original William further than his possible ship entry to SA.

this is from jalrose in response to the Barden query.   Mary Barden who married William Wade was my mother's great grandmother - their daughter Mary Ann Wade married Edmund Martin.  What/who are you looking for?

thank you for trying.   Agree with findings for Doris Stanley and John.  MaryAnn definitely born 1880 so am pleased you found that regn, as I didn't know that.  Thomas Boardman Jackson was her father, dying 1933.   His son, Harold, won vic cross in first war.  Grateful to you all.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear.  After 1911 census please.  Mary Ann (nee Jackson) is the line I am most interested in.   Thank you.

John and Mary Ann (nee Jackson) Searby are shown as living Kirton, Lincolnshire in the 1911 Census.   2 children, Doris Mary and Stanley Robert.  Also father-in-law, Thomas Jackson, and other Jackson family members.   Has anyone any knowledge of this family?   Thank you

Thank you everyone.  I have noted the responses, and happy to say the mysteries are lessening.    :)

You have worked overtime Trish, thank you very much.   According to IGI (which I have experienced is not always correct), Joseph Barden married Susannah Adam 1825.  William ch.1826; John ch 1829; Mary ch 1831 Bow Brickhill; William chr 1834; died 1835; Jabez (freebdm 1840); Susannah Elizabeth born circa 1842.  Ships list no help with ages or names other than "Joseph Barden". Susannah died 1854 aged 52 (no clues on her death cert).   Joseph remarried in 1855 to a Mary Bolton (no clues as to birthplace or parents on that cert) and produced anor 5 children.  The eldest was the informant on Joseph's death cert in 1884.
(Mary Barden married William Wade & I descend from this line - have all Aust records possible).   I have felt Susannah would be impossible to trace, as no clues.  The 1841 Census for Richard Adams with niece Mary aged 9 is certainly a possibility, though still difficult to prove.    Had hoped to track Joseph's parents but looks like that is also too hard.   Thank you all very much for trying. :)

Thank you for responding.  I am still puzzled though.   Joseph's son, John Barden, married in Buckingham to Ann Buckingham V6 P45 in Sept 1847.    John and ann both died in South Aust in1866 leaving 5 children.   Joseph was appointed administrator of john barden's estate.  Ships list says Barden.  surname is barden everywhere here.  Youngest daughter died and obituary refers to her dad, Joseph Barden and her being born in Buckinghamshire.   jabez d.c. says born Newport Pagnel.
I understand spelling of names often changed and also info on bdms only as good as informants knowledge.
any further thoughts would be appreciated.  thank you most sincerely.
