Hi
This is an old photo of my mother in law's family, the Borserios. It would have been taken about 1924.  They emigrated from Italy to Australia from a place called Villa di Tirano in the Valtellina, Italy. It would be great if you could restore this as it is the only photo my husband's family has of their mother as a child. Thanks! Deb :) :)

Hi
This is one of only two surviving photos of my mother taken as a baby. Here she is with her older sister, Muriel (Ouie). I would appreciate a touch up of this photos, thanks!

Hi
I have snipped a record of the baptism of John Mackey who may be my g g grandfather (John McKay) baptised at Loughanure, Clane, Kildare in December 1825. The father's name and John's name are clear but I am not sure about the mother's name which they state is Jersey, but it looks like Judy to me. Would appreciate interpretation of this & any other details as well, witnesses' names. Thanks! Deb (Daintree, Qld, Australia)  I have been unable to locate where my g g grandfather was born in Kildare but i am excited about finding this record as I believe this just may be him. Knowing the mother's name would be a great help. The witnesses' look like Christy Murphy & McByrne. Also could anyone help with the letters after the name Mackey.

Hi This is a photo of my grandfather, Edwin James Aldred who was born in Manchester in 1895 and migrated to Australia in his teens (as a merchant marine). I would love to have this photo restored for my mother's benefit. Mum is 91 and would cherish a restore. Does any one have any idea how old he may have been in this picture. I'm guessing in his twenties.
Thanks!!! :)

:) Hi I received help in a previous post finding some of the family of John William & Charlotte (nee Marriage) DIXON (married 1830 at Christ Church, Spitalfields). These were the parents of my great great grandfather, John William Dixon who emigrated to New South Wales, Australia in 1853. Kent is given as the place of departure but John was born in Hackney, London in 1831 and baptised at the same time as his younger brother Alfred, on 7th April, 1833 at St Johns, Hackney, Middlesex. In 1841 he was living with his parents & siblings at Hackney, Road, Nova Scotia Gardens, Bethnal Green, Middlesex. His siblings were Alfred, Edward, Susan & Charles all supposedly born at Hackney though I believe some of these younger ones may have been born at Shoreditch which is close by? I also think that they had more children.
I've scoured and scoured the records & I can't find any more references to John & Charlotte that I can say conclusively is them. There is another family that has a John & Catherine Dixon in the 1851 census with some similarly named children but the children are younger by about 8 years than my ones so I don't believe it is them.
I'm starting to think that they may have even emigrated overseas as I just can't find them anywhere. They just seem to have dropped off the radar which is odd. i don't think that they emigrated to Australia as I can't find them in these records.
I would appreciate help. I was very excited to find some siblings for my JW Dixon, g g grandfather, but am now keen to find what happened to his siblings and to his parents. It is possible that one of the brothers, Edward, married an Ann Marshall in London as this record fits the family.
I hope someone may help. Deb, Queensland, Australia PS My g g g grandfather (JW Dixon who was born around 1806) was an ivory and bone former.

 :) Hi
I am trying to locate a birth record for my great great grandfather, John William or John Joseph Dixon, born circa 1830-32 at Highgate, Middlesex, England. I'll attach his death record which gives his parents as John William Dixon and Charlotte Marriage, place of birth as Highgate. He emigrated to Australia (am not sure of year of immigration). The marriage of John Dixon to Charlotte Marriage took place on 26 September 1830 in London. We can not find a birth record for a son, John. There is another marriage for a John William Dixon to an Elizabeth Hulbert, on 13 May 1832 in London, which may be a second marriage for J W Dixon senior? Any help with this would be appreciated. Apparently there are no christening records for this time. Deb

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / death notice for mary ann dixon
« on: Tuesday 07 July 15 05:25 BST (UK)  »
:) Hi I need help deciphering the daughter's name in this death notice. Unfortunately this was copied from another tree and I don't have the original source even though I have searched extensively on Trove for this notice.
This is the death notice for my g g grandmother, Mary Ann (nee Walton) Dixon who died at Glebe, with the procession leaving from her daughter's residence at Glebe. The daughter's married name looks something like Mrs Clare or Mrs Clove but I can't make it out. I don't have a marriage for any of her daughters that looks remotely like this name so I am stumped! This is the right Mary Ann Dixon however as this address at Glebe matches her death certificate.
Any help or any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks, Deb

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Occupation
« on: Sunday 05 July 15 01:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi I need help establishing what William Dixon (from London)'s occupation was. At first glance it looks like surveyor but I don't think so. People on the same page were weavers and had similar mill related occupations. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks. It ends in yer.

Hi
My family is unsure whether the first photo is our grandmother, Ethel or her sister, Ivy. I'd like some help with this one please. I've included two photos, the first is the "not sure" (age about 17) and the second is definitely my grandmother taken at a slightly later date, possibly at 17-19 years old. My grandmother was like a chameleon & had one of those faces that looked different if she put on or took off a few pounds. The photo had been marked as the same person by my uncle but I thought that it may have been wrongly identified. I've changed my mind back now & think it is possible that she may be our Nana. To help I'll add a 3rd photo of the 2 sisters, Ivy on the left & Ethel on the right, taken many years later.
