London and Middlesex / Re: Joan M Barnes, b. 1923 Brentford Middx

Thanks for your reply.
I realised it was probably a bit sketchy, I have told the person concerned to apply for Joans birth certificate.
Strange as well I could not find a record for her father's death ?
He was married in 1917 to a Florence Stevens at Eton Bucks, Florence re-married in 1932, her first husband George M ( manuel) Barnes was admitted to Broadmoor, I am not sure if he came out or died there ? as I cannot trace a record.

Could anybody please help trace the whereabouts of this lady ?

She was born AMJ 1923 at Brentford, Middlesex.
She was the daughter of, George M Barnes and Florence M Stevens who married in 1917 at Eton, Buckinghamshire.

Family story has it that she went with an american chap and had twin girls, born in Brentford, JAS 1944.

They were both taken into care, and the mother completely disappeared,
any thoughts ?

I wonder if I have been looking too long ?
Family say that a relation, Violet R George, b.1924 married a chap name of Lewis in 1946, Yarmouth area.
Try as I might I cannot find a marriage listed ?
She did later in Yarmouth re-marry a Alfred Sutton in JAS 1957, where she was listed as Violet Lewis, what do you think ?

Good thinking Jim1, it should mean that there was only the one body.
I wonder, if I have researched right, Mabel had a sister Ivy alice P Wymer b.1914, D.1988. It appears that neither sister married, possibly Sister Ivy had the stone erected before/when she died in '88, that would account for why the institute ladies never recorded one in 80/81.

Hi Jim1,
It could be jim, I was wondering if it may have been a double grave and Mabel was the last in, her father is buried at Acle churchyard, so another Wymer with her maybe ?

Hi Jim1
As I said when finally looking at Filby burials record, Edward is No 776, Caroline No 778 and robert No 780, but these numbers do not appear to have a bearing on the grave numbers in the record taken by Filby womens Institute 1980 - 1981.
Another strange thing, Plot No. 360, noted by the women in 1980/81 as a mound WYMER, now has what looks like a new Headstone marble granite, with Gold embossed inscription, which reads, Mabel Lilian Wymer 7-7-1915  -  20-5-1957 erected some 24 years after her death ?, the only Mabel L,  I could find was born 1913, mmn Rich.
If this is her, and her parents are Walter Wymer and Alice Edith Rich, the family lived at Surlingham which is in the district of HENSTEAD, and a previous post to me suggesting that Jacob Wymer b.1756 was son of John Wymer and Elizabeth from Henstead, coincidence, poss not !
Walter if correct was the son of Henry, brother to Robert, sons of James, son of Jacob.
The puzzle continues...................... Thanks for your help, regards
