Ayrshire / YUILL
« on: Monday 26 January 04 21:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there,

Another brickwall.
I am researching the name YUILL (yuille, guill ). I have started in modern day and have been able to get lots right back until 1840.

I have a Willam Guill marrying a Mary Stewart in Ayr, Largs. 9th May 1840. All their children were born in the same place. This is the first time I have come across the name spelt like this. From then on it got changed to Yuill.

I am looking for death and birth details for this man. William was not alive in 1874 as on his sons marriage cert. it states he was deceased. Thats when his son married (1874). William was described as a joiner and fisherman. I dont know if William's death was recorded in the name Guill or Yuill or what his birth surname was spelt like. I have been able to get most of my info from LDS site but nothing for William's death or birth.

Can anyone who might have access to records back then help. Anything at all will be really appreciated. If I have left anything out please get back to me. Thank you

Completed Census Requests / death details wanted

Hello everyone,

I think I am in the right place to ask my query.

Can anyone help re parish records lookups. I have a brickwall at present so any help or advice greatly appreciated.

ROBERT PERRY (Pearry, Perie, etc). Born in Cumberland, Whitehaven. Married and had his children in the same place. The last child being born in 1811. Robert was a mariner. He married Amelia Patterson aged 29.
He seems to have disappeared from Cumberland some time after 1811. I have had Cumberland searched thoroughly (I think) so have been advised to try neighbouring places. One was found in Todmorden but turned out not to be mine (to young).
I am looking for a death cert.
I have had 1837 through to 1840 when he would have been 76 yrs old searched. This is in neighbouring places.
Because records dont go beyond 1837 I am now looking for someone who might have access to records in parishes earlier.

ROBERT PERRY  any neighbouring county to Cumberland starting 1814 through to 1819. A death.

He would have been aged 50 in 1814. I have only asked for five years as I may have to ask for further years to 1837 and may have to rely on different people who are prepared to look for me. He could only have died sometime after 1811 when his last child was born.

I hope I have explained my brickwall clearly, if not please get back to me with any questions. As said above anything at all greatly appreciated. Thank you
