Just wondering what Joseph and Sarah's surname is? This is the 1851 Ickford census, could it be "Cross"?

thanks in advance

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Liverpool - Street Location ?

I don't know the area at all, but a quick google came up with this reply to a similar question on rootsweb: apparently Sherdley St ran from Crown St to Minshull St between Little Woolton St and Wide St. Hope this helps  ;)

Unfortunately FreeReg has only been transcribed for Carew after 1813,  and Jeffreyston after 1799, so I'm sorry I can't help any further  :(. Maybe you could try asking the moderator to move this thread to the Pembrokeshire, Wales board where you might get some more help from rootschatters who really know the area!

Happy hunting,

There's also a baptism of Charlotte to Henry and Sarah JAMES at Jeffreyston 12 Jun 1826.

Was the first marriage to Sarah BELTH, widow, 13 Dec 1825 at Jeffreyston Parish Church? (freeReg). Can see his marriage to Sarah ROW, both of Caldey, 8 Jun 1833 at Penally Parish Church.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Help Needed to Locate Death of James Greenlees

James Greenlees died 9 July 1913 in Queensland
Father William Greenlees, Mother Ellen Cowan
Registration number 004650
Page 9988

Three public trees on ancestry have him born in Queensland 1888.

Yes, a memorial notice in the Townsville Daily Bulletin in 1914 (on Trove) is placed by his "sorrowing parents, brothers and sisters" - so seems unlikely to be a match for Elizajb's James Greenlees.

I'm no expert on dating, but William Rowe established his photographic studio in Leicester in 1870 and died in 1885, so I would assume the photo is somewhere in that time period.  :)

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: SIMMS - Quainton - census

Thanks so much for getting back to me Heatha!

I think William might be another one for the too hard basket for the moment. I was interested to see the Ickford baptism, as his daughter Sarah married Richard Freeman who was from Ickford and after a short stay in Chilworth Oxon they moved back to Ickford until their deaths. Maybe just a coincidence, been trying to hunt down some other connection that might give a lead to William's birth, without any luck so far.

I'll let you know if I come up anything  :)
