There is no William and Elizabeth together on the 1851 but I did find an Elizabeth aged 60 born Skelton living with her daugher Mary b. 1822 Topcliffe and both living in Topcliffe.

Just found the following on my Middlesex Parish Records Disc:-

Marriages at Monken Hadley 1619-1837 Vol 4

Robt. de Neufville Lucas, p. St. Mary, Islington, & Eliz. Johnson, lic.  28 Apr 1831

This is the only de Neufville found on the disc.

There is a marriage between a John Bennet and Ann Storey 17/12/1808 at Anston which I gather is close to Harthill (?)

The enumerator probably wrote down what he thought he heard or perhaps couldn't read his own writing!  You might be right about the different accent.
