I'm trying to establish the spouse of Tom Benton b. 1860 ish in Huddersfield.  On Freebmd there is a marrige of a Tom Benton in Jun 1885 to either Mary Shaw or Sophia Stoker.

Can anyone find Tom on the 1891 and 1901 census' with either Mary or Sophia and any children.

Only one of three might fit.  George Andrews born 1792 Bethnal Green but his wife is Ann.

You may have discounted this one already, but I have found a John Raw born 1826 Yorkshire working as an Ag Lab at Anderby Steeple  HO/107/1243/3 Folio 5 page 6.


Found him using search terms "Jno Raw" as opposed to John.

No sign of Matthew though.

Hi

I can't find a Martha Andrews on the 1851 that would match, however, I have found a Mary A Andrews a widow and servant, living with the Arnth family at 22 Charles Street, St. Geo in the East.  She has the right birth year so perhaps a mis-transcription.

I can't spot William Sr I'm afraid.

There is a marriage of Ann Matilda Nicholls December Quarter 1862 (1c 923) St Geo East, to either James Charles Matthew or Frederick Howard.  I have spotted James Charles with a wife and family in the 1871 so she possibly married Frederick Howard.

I can't spot Frederick and Ann on the 1871.

Elizabeth may have married before 1871 too and there are too many to know which one is her.

Living at 163A Rindlerham Road, Hackney.

1861

There are a few candidates but I have found a William Nicholls aged 22 and a Carpenter living with a Turpin family and listed as "son in Law".  They were living at Deverill & Weston, Devon but no sign of Mary A Turpin or Nicholls.
