It has been brought to my attention by a very good friend that I might have a interesting situation to explore
Regarding Sydney Herbert Davies


He married my great grandmothers aunt AnnaBella simpson in Aberdeen in 1916,

He is listed as being in the private Royal Mariners Service no 14806

My good friend told me that this man is also associated with the name George turner ?

I have a quick look online and it appears this is the case on some of the records

I can’t work out why this would
Be the case ? But I’m certainly very interested and intrigued

I’m a bit unsure why this is possible
And looking for some help please


My grandfathers , grandfather William
Smith died in 1898 aged 50,
He is listed within the grave details along with other members

Strangely his father aged 79 died a week later
Pure coincidence

As his father was living closer to Fraserburgh than his sons peterhead grave I always imagined he had been buried there

But on having a fresh look at the facts from the known website for burials etc

It appears on the grave details it lists 6-8 people including the first deceased William smith

But no mention of his father William
Who died a week later

But …

On paying to see the burial scan I can clearly see around 1 week apart they are both in the same grave , which I never knew ?

Why dosent the father William smith appear on the grave details list?

Also I notice it says that the first William was buried at 5 feet and 1 week later his father William was buried at 6 feet ?

I can’t work out how that’s possible ?

But they both appear on burial register and on the same page
