Hi

Just popped in to say that I have a couple of lines from this area and with similar dates*. I thought that I'd warn that there was quite a lot of flipping from the patronymic form  to surnames in the records at the time.

Sorry not up to doing look ups at the moment  but thought that I'd warn.

Looking again at the photo, I'm wondering if it is nearer the beginning of WW1. The woman and child look sad/serious. Could the husband/father have enlisted and the photo is for him to take with him?

If it helps, I'd say the woman was in her late 20s - mid 30s.

The start date is just pre WW1 & possibly into the war years but I
suspect it's pre war by the the girl's dress style.
Is there a stamp box on the back?
Often they are dateable.

I agree with Jim - say 1911-1913.

The bodice style is typical 1850's/60's & you won't see it in any
other decade.
Agewise I would suggest 70-80.

Sorry Jim. I was sure that you had just said 1850's. I must have misread   :)

Add - her expression suggests she isn't enjoying sitting!

I found some egs of 1850s clothing but was put off by the style of the photograph. Could it be a reprint on old card stock?
