Hi Colleen,
Thanks for the help
Yes he was according to the Marraige cert the address that was given was Ty Mawr(big house) Ty Mawr was also the name of the colliery in Hopkinstown.
I have found a Margaret Jones in 1881 further down the valley in Porth about the right age but it does not state she is a widdow.
Thanks
Gareth

Help needed before I go mad please
I am trying to find the deaths of my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather and Mother
George Jones and Margaret Jones,
I have them both in the 1871 Census living at 67 Tymawr row Hopkinstown with family
George was Christned in 1815 Bristol and was a mason. Margeret was Christened 1818 in Merthyr Dyfan(alhtough in some of census' it states Merthyr) I do have them all in 1861,1851 and 1841 cunsus' so I know I have the right family.
I have the marrige for them in Merthyr tydfil and the Birth of my Gt Gt Grandfather Richard Jones Born 1947 Merthyr Tydfil Also have Ricahard's wedding cert as well at Sardis Chapel Pontypridd in 1871 so I know I have the right family 100%
I have walked around Llanwono church,No luck.
There is Church at Hopkinstown walked round there
looked in all local Cemeteries Glyn Taff Trealaw Treorchy. No Joy
Cant Find a George Jones death of the right age localy or Margaret
Have I missed something in the 1881 or am I just going blind for looking to hard
