I've just found the following record in Family Search:

David Jenkin. Christening 12 October 1851 at Coity, Glamorgan. Mother Anne Jenkin.

That will do for me, I think.  :)

Thanks for your time and replies.
Mike

Jennet is a good bet.

If he was the illegitimate son of Jennet (or Ann), why the surname Robert?
Be nice to see some record  ::)

Non-conf: Quite possibly. Several of the siblings were baptised on the Bridgend Congregational Circuit.

In 1861 at ref Piece: 4077; Folio: 31; Page: 6 I have the Jenkin family. (also recorded as Jenkins)

Included in the census is David Robert, Grandson, 9, Coity. (I'm assuming Robert is the surname as I've not found a record for a David Robert Jenkin(s)).

I cannot tie him into the Jenkin family and any pointers would be appreciated.

Mary Jane was born in 1835 in Bishops Lydeard to James and Maria Baker.

In 1853 she had an illegitimate daughter, Bella.
In 1881 she appears to be in Taunton Union workhouse as Mary J Matthews (born 1834)
In 1891 she is with her mother Maria as Mary Jane Matthews.

Can anybody find a "logical" marriage? )There is one registered in Leicester in 1870 but .......)
I'd also be interedted in her death registration.

Lot of work avm!

The mother may be Mary Woodland (see 1911) born Langford Budville, in 1867.

I cannot find a Florence, born in Langford 1867-1875, but Mary fits the bill by loosing a few years (Victorian ladies!!).
Mary was the daughter of George and Diana Woodland and I have a fair bit of information on that family.
