It is possible that even if Robert does name a father when he married it could be fictitious.

Maybe the original register indicates whether Ann Easey was spinster / widowed when she married William.

This marriage is in the right area. I would suggest that you examine Fred's signature closely!

Have you seen the parish register entry for Ann's marriage to William Bickers or are you relying on online records/transcripts.

Who does Robert name as his father when he married.
