England / Re: Jane Lampard
« on: Saturday 05 March 11 21:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Kate,
Many thanks for contacting me.
Whilst I have made a lot of progress with some of my Lampards, Jane still remains a bit of a mystery I'm afraid. Like you, I cannot find a marriage between Jane Lampard and Charles Hudson so I am unable to confirm whether this is your connection or not.
I believe Jane may have married James Smith Nickalls in 1850, but he died a year later so it is quite possible that she remarried. On a child's birth certificate it asks for mother's maiden name which would be Lampard in this case. However, if she did remarry then her name on the marriage certificate would be Nickalls.
If I come across any further info I will of course get back to you.
best wishes

Essex / Re: lawrence, spalding, moody manning and dewey

Hi Jaq,
I noticed the name Burton on your list of interests and wondered if you had any in Coggeshall or Maldon.
I am trying to trace the parents of Arthur Burton (b.abt1874) in Lexden district. I went to Essex Records office and couldn't find a baptism for him either in Lexden or Stanway. All I know for definite is that his father's name was James. However, I noticed a census record for a James and Hannah in Gt Coggeshall and then found a marriage for James Burton and Hannah Willsher in Lexden district in 1870.
Any information you can give me would be much appreciated.

Kent / Re: Hollingbourn/Chambers - Any Advice Gratefully Received!
« on: Sunday 07 June 09 13:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi Alex,
I have seen an old posting of yours re Chambers family in Hollingbourne and wonder if I have a possible daughter for Robert on my tree. Rebecca Chambers was born 1820 in the Maidstone area and married Stephen Bristed Lampard in 1855 somewhere in Medway area of kent. They lived in Maidstone after their marriage. A lot of my Lampards came from Hollingbourne so there are obviously strong links with that village.
Let me know if you think we have a connections.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Hollingbourn(e) parish records marriages- Bourn

Further to my previous message, I have now determined that William and Susannah Young were witnesses at the wedding of Thomas Lampard and Mary Alchorn. Thomas is a possible brother for Susannah.

I have just spotted this posting, regarding Mary Young who was the daughter of William Young and Susannah Lampard.
I believe Susannah may have been the daughter of William Lampard and Jane Johnson. If anyone can confirm this for me I would be grateful if they could let me know.
Susannah Lampard was born 1763 in Hollingbourne which would make her 19 when she married in 1782.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Cawte and Young connections in New Zealand
« on: Friday 28 March 08 09:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi There,
I don't know if this is the right forum to place my message but just wanted to publicly thank lil growler for finding information linking the Young and Cawte families together. I had various bits of information but lil growler was able to supply "missing link" and that made all the pieces of the puzzle fit together.
I really appreciate the time and effort made on my behalf. As I am resident in UK I didn't know where to start with this one.
I have hopefully sent lil growler a personal message (not sure, I am new to this!!) but felt it was only right that others know of the terrific help and support that is out there.
Thanks

Lynda ;D

Family History Beginners Board / A special thank you
« on: Sunday 03 February 08 00:21 GMT (UK)  »
I would like to send a special thank you to Casulguidi and Bearkat. In August last year I started a series of posts about Henry Lampard born in Rainham Kent. I had various relatives who got mixed up over who belonged to who and both of these researchers guided me in the right direction with various census records (all of which turned out to be pertinent to my tree), army records and links to other websites. They gave me all the pieces of the jigsaw but it has taken till now to finally solve the
puzzle. I have sorted out the Maltese connection and put the lady in Australia straight about which
children belong where.
It is only now that I can start to update my tree with all the relevant facts. But I would never have got this far without the help of Casalguidi and Bearkat. ;D
Thanks a million

Devon Lookup Requests / Look up request for lampard marriage
« on: Tuesday 29 January 08 19:30 GMT (UK)  »
I am currently researching Lampard family in Rainham Kent. I have found a census record for William Lampard born 1815 in Rainham Kent, married to Emma who came from Devon.
I have found a possible marriage record in June qtr 1848 East Stonehouse. If this is the correct one,
Emma's surname was Jennings and William Lampard's occupation was a Seaman.
If it is possible for someone to look up this record, I need to know William's father's name and occupation. Presumably this would show up on the marriage record.
Any information gratefully received.
