Do you have Joseph's Birth Registration.

As there is no father listed on it the chances of finding/identifying his father are slim. DNA may be your only solution.

PS as others here may say don't trust online trees and take their findings with not a pinch of salt but a mountain of it.

Mental Deficiency  Act 1913

Reading the wording of this legislation shows it's potential for exploitation

For quite some time Electricity was considered a cure all for many afflictions and although many practices had stopped by the early 20th Century others were still in the development stage (electro convulsive therapy)

One of Family Historians greatest strengths is its immense flexibiity.(it’s also what puts a lot of people off, considering the program too complicated)

Use the program to work the way you want to work

PS if you press F1 on any screen it brings up the main help page for that function

With your diagram (chart) on screen right click on the individual you want to make changes to which gives you a drop down menu.

from this menu select "Format" which give you the screen attached which will enable you to override the standard/default colours fonts etc.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Shared 18% DNA

DNA Painter gives the probable relationships as

18% DNA
69% probability Grandparent Aunt / Uncle Half Sibling Niece / Nephew Grandchild
31% probability
Half Aunt / Uncle † Half Niece / Nephew † Great-Grandparent Great-Aunt / Uncle 1C Great-Niece / Nephew Great-Grandchild

11% DNA
95% probability
Great-Grandparent Great-Aunt / Uncle Half Aunt / Uncle 1C Half Niece / Nephew Great-Niece / Nephew Great-Grandchild
5% probability
Great-Great-Aunt / Uncle † Great-Great-Niece / Nephew † Half Great-Aunt / Uncle † Half Great-Niece / Nephew † Half 1C, 1C1R

depending upon your age and the ages of the matches you should be able to eliminate some of these "probabilities"
