Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Pvt David Whyte Sharp - Scots Guards - died 7/8/1918 - buried Balgay (Dundee) Cemetery. Service No 12891

He had served as a Private (sn: 12981) in the 3rd Reserve Battalion, Scots Guards but had been discharged before he died in Ashludie Hospital, Angus, Scotland, from pulmonary tuberculosis.

The Commission are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave

Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Pvt William Patrick Farrell - service no 3353 - Manchester Regiment - died 13/8/1916 - buried Greenacres Cemetery Oldham.

The Commission are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

William Farrell had been a slater when he enlisted in the 3 Battalion on 26 September 1914.
He was posted to 2 nd Battalion in France 20 July 1915 and later transferred to 1 st Battalion.
Pvt Farrell was evacuated home sick 1 March 1916 and discharged on 29 June 1916.
William died from bowel cancer. He was buried in an unmarked plot Oldham (Greenacres) Cemetery.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Flight Sergeant James Falconer Stephen. Royal Air Force service no :- 186213 - died 14/12/1919 -  Royal Herbert hospital, Woolwich -  buried City of London Cemetery and Crematorium Manor Park.

The Commission are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

He was 49 and left a widow, Eunice Esther Stephen [nee Burch] of 162 Henley Road, Ilford, Essex.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Private Joseph William Bowmer - Kings Shropshire Light Infantry - Service No - 20138 - died 14/2/1919

Private Bowmer is buried at Stapleford Cemetery. Notts.

Private Joseph William Bowmer enlisted on 9th October 1914 at Nottingham, he gave his age as 22 yrs and 193 days, he was a hair dresser, he was posted to the King's Shropshire Light Infantry. He was seriously wounded on 20th November 1917 whilst serving on the Cambria front he received a gun shot wound to his back, he was treated and returned to England where he was admitted on 16th December 1917 to St Marys Military Hospital, Whalley, Lancashire. His wound had severed his spinal cord and left him a paraplegic an unsuccessful attempt to remove the bullet was made on 7th January 1918.
On 9th April 1918 he was transferred to the Bagthorpe Hospital at Nottingham.
Following a medical board hearing he was discharged from the Army on 31st July 1918 and died on 14th February 1919
