I see that you are researching Longhursts- one of the Tickner girls m a Frederick Longhurst 1880ish. The mother died, & C1891 gives her daughter, Maud, living with her Tickner grandparents.
Ok, I've just got back from the library, I use their edition of Ancestry.
Frederick Longhurst married Emma Tickner Sept 1/4 1883 Dorking 2a 207
If this is the right entry
Emma Longhurst 23 died Mar 1/4 1886 Dorking 2a 116
Obviously these events happen between the 1881 and 1891 censuses
I tried to find a birth entry for 'Maud' around 1885 which would tie up with the 1891 census but couldn't, which leaves me to suggest that she wasn't registered as 'Maud', so she could be anything.
As to where she is on the 1901, she doesn't turn up as Maud Longhurst so choices are
she's died, Maud's not her 'real' name, highly unlikely she's married as she would only just be 16, or she's emigrated.
If Maud isn't her 'real' name she could be impossible to find.
Going back to Frederick, I can't place him on my trees so far, but without knowing his fathers name from the marriage cert it is quite difficult to track him down on the census too.
Sorry I've not been to helpful on this.
Anyway, my husband and daughter have just gone to the park so I'll get the microfiche out and have a look for wills etc and get back to you later.
