manda_mc,
I’m not sure why you reposted my original post. Can you explain? That post is from 2008. We have learned a lot about this family since then. Do you have a question about this family?

Hi Mr Lowe,
Can you tell us how you are related to Peter Farrell and Mary McPoland? The family you mention in NJ (North Arlington) would be my line. There is another descendant on this chat forum who may also respond to you, Gerry Farrell.
It will be interesting to see how your family line fits in. The family trees you see on ancestry would be both Gerry and my family lines.
Patrick Farrell md. Ann Devlin in Co Down. Ann Devlin’s parents are Terrance Devlin and Sarah Cull. The Flood surname comes from Ann Devlin Farrell’s second marriage to Luke Flood in Glasgow.

Hi,
I'm sorry that I cannot help with your query. The Mass card was among the possessions of my relative who was from Durrow but died as a missionary priest in South Africa. I posted the Mass card for any relative that might be searching for this person.
As for my McInnerney relatives, they came from Co Clare and as far as I can tell were in Clare since the earliest record I have for them which is around the 1760's. I don't think there is any connection to your family. Sorry that I cannot help with your search.

I will try to contact that newspaper. I might be able to find something in there about the Fry family. Thank you, I really appreciate the help!

Hi,
Unfortunately I have no specific date for her and yes that leads to the problem of finding the correct marriage for her too. That is why I was hoping an obituary for her parents might give me a lead.
This would be a cousin line for me as the first Fry that went to Salford was William Fry born in Rathdowney, Laois, Ireland in 1848 and died in Salford in 1911. He would be the father of Richard Fry.
My Fry line consists of Williams sister Anne, who stayed in Ireland and the families lost touch sometime before or after the war.
Would you happen to know what newspapers might have obits for this area?

Lancashire / Looking for an obituary
« on: Saturday 28 January 17 22:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am hoping someone can lead me in the right direction to find an obituary and/or the name for the newspapers that would cover the area of Salford, Lancashire.
I an searching for the obituaries of-
John Joseph Fitzgerald b. 26 Dec 1900 d.1981 in Salford
Mary Fry Fitzgerald b. 13 Jul 1907 in Salford d. 1987 in Salford.

I am specifically interested in the Fry family. Mary Fry Fitzgerald's parents were Richard Fry(born and died in Salford 1883-1936) and Beatrice Pickvance. Beatrice and 2 of Mary Fry Fitzgerald's children died on 23 Dec 1940 in the bombings that happened in Salford/Manchester area.
I would like to find out if there are any surviving descendants of this family. The Fitzgeralds had one more child, a daughter born in 1943 but I don't want to post her name hoping she is still alive.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Martin's Parents - John Creagh and Mary Brouthers. They lived on Moore St., Rathdowney. They immigrated to Penn Yan, New York around 1880 where their other children were living.
John Creagh died 16 Apr 1888 in Penn Yan
Mary Brouthers died 10 Oct 1889 in Penn Yan.

The children that I know of are the ones who immigrated (all male) besides Martin who is my direct ancestor.
John Creagh/Craugh b. abt 1830 d. 28 Nov 1902 in Penn Yan md.
Margaret Pine - 23 Feb 1857 in Rathdowney.

Martin Creagh/ McGrath b. abt 1832 d. 1894 in Ballyragget, md. Anna Fry

Patrick Creagh/Craugh - b abt 1835 d. 1919 in Penn Yan, md. Margaret S. Long - she was from Laois but I do not know if they in Laois or New York.

Michael Creagh/Craugh- b. 1838 d. 1910 in Penn Yan, md. Margaret Sweeney in Penn Yan

William J Craugh/Craugh- b. 1848 d. 1922 in Syracuse, md Catherine Quinlan in Penn Yan.

I an sure there are probably females siblings to these boys but I haven't found them yet.

Monaghan / Re: Please help in finding Monaghan's and Carbery's

Don't know if this will help in your search for Carberry family, but I was in Dover, New Hampshire in the summer and took photos of graves of people from Monaghan and Armagh. Here is a picture of the grave of Patrick Carberry, wife. The cemetery is Old St. Mary, Dover, New Hampshire.

Hi Creaghp,

Thank you for posting this marriage. I haven't gotten to Laois parish registers yet. I'm still working on Monaghan right now. But now I will have to switch over to Laois.
That is the right marriage for Martin Creagh and Ann Fry. Anna Frye's parents were Samuel Frye and Mary Prior. And according to your picture its lists a Michael Prior. A very good lead. Thank you again.
