Hello  Chaps,

I am seeking some help please  - as I am entering an area in which I have no knowledge.

I would very much like to find out a bit more (if possible) about my great uncle.  Might it be possible to know things like the progression of his journey to the Somme?
Any information would be wonderful.

Private William Watson Parkin.
266247

He died 1.7.1916  age 18 - and is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial.

He was with (3881). 1st/7th Bn.
Sherwood Foresters
(Notts & Derby Regiment)

Thank you in anticipation.

Technical Help / updating to Google Chrome??
« on: Wednesday 18 July 18 17:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I could really use some advice, I keep being reminded to "update" to google chrome by my computer.

Now - I am a creature of habit so not keen on making these sort of decisions.....should I just do it or should I go fire fox??

Any help much appreciated!

Kind regards,
Copperbeech5

Hi Meinwen,

Thanks so much for getting in touch with me re: William Herbert Hutchinson.

I don't know why he was on the Lenister - but had always understood that he was on his way "home", but sadly as we know that was never to be.

I was delighted to hear that you have remembered him in the recent ceremony - that is lovely, thank you.

I have also made contact with you at through your website as you suggested - if I can help any further please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,
Copperbeech5

Hi,

I would try contacting Worksop Library, they have quite a good local history section and always seem a very helpful clan!
