The witnesses were Mary Boyd & Joseph Gear.

No space for occupation or father at this time.

The 1832 marriage of Thomas LEWIS at Alverstoke was to Mary Anne HORAN

Hmm

The Street Directory says 20 Swift Road, Woolston

while the probate record says

20 Swift Road, Sarisbury Green

 ???

A Florence THORNE was living at 20 Swift Road in 1970

The problem with street directories as they list the head of the household, usually a man.

I had seen that 1911 census entry but had dismissed it due to the place of birth.  I hadn't heard of Rowton Houses (very interesting reading).  Sadly, it's the sort pf place I would expect him to be.  With so many residents it would be easy to make a mistake on an entry.

The WWI enlistment record with no address would make sense if he was homeless.

But who knows?

Walter NELSON is a fairly common name but he was not given a middle name when he was baptised.

I need to find a likely candidate in the 1921 census and a possible death.
