It's a long time since I ordered any certificates from the GRO ................... is it not possible now to order a death certificate for a death occuring within the last 50 years without an exact date of death (I only have the year)?

I am enquiring as to whether anybody knows anything about a maternity/mother and baby home in Dorchester during the early war years?  A large house/mansion possibly for evacuees or unmarried mothers?
