Cornwall / Re: WEBB and HOSKINGS+PORTHPEAN ST AUSTELL

Sorry - a correction to my message re the above.  The period the Webb/Hosking families left Cornwall was the 1870's, not the 1850's.  Thanks, Dinny

Does anyone know of a Webb and/or Hoskings family/ies from Porthpean St Austell (or the St Austell area generally) who may have left Cornwall for New Zealand in the 1850's?

Thanks - Dinny

ROBINSON / REID

I am looking for a connection to a Joseph Robinson (farmer) m. Ann Reid.  In 1852 they lived in Drumharriff North, Co Monaghan (near Castleblayney?) - Griffiths has Joseph thus:    Joseph Robinson - Drumharriff North - Donaghmoyne - Monaghan.

There is another Joseph Robinson - Corrateean - Donaghmoyne - Monaghan listed directly above the Drumharriff Joseph.  Is the Corrateean man the same as the Drumharriff North man?  Or is he related?

Joseph of Drumharriff did have a son, named Joseph and a daughter, Elizabeth (b. 1852).  Does anyone know what happened to Joseph junior after the 1911 census, please?  Could he have left Ireland for Australia or New Zealand?

I am not aware of any other children.  Thanks.  Dinny.

Thanks for your tip Aghadowey.  I have no further information except oral history which I feel I cannot rely upon for accuracy.
The name, Sarah Quigley, may be a clue but I am sorry I have no parents or siblings for this lady.  She may have gone to New Zealand.  Regards - Dinny
