Hi - to Whitmore.
Yes - which of her children do you belong to?   She had quite a few.  I am also descended from her.
Pleased to hear from you.  Regards - Dinny.

Thank you to all those who have offered help and their thoughts on my question above.

I guess the term "Head" applies to the holder of the lease/tenure and "Boarder Head" could mean the heads of other families living in the property - sort of a sublet situation where the "Boarder Head" is responsible for his or her  part of the arrangement.

Thanks again - regards - Dinny.

Family History Beginners Board / Query - Border Head - England & Wales Census 1881
« on: Monday 10 September 18 02:38 BST (UK)  »

England Wales Census 1881

Under the occupants of a house besides the Head and the Wife of the head (property owners?)
There were two other entries entitled  “Boarder Head”.  In each instance both parties had a wife and one included a son (separate family units?) .

What does the term “Boarder Head” mean, please.   Does it mean the “Head” and his wife owned a property containing two extra units occupied separately by “Boarder Heads”  or some other explanation?    There was nothing on the record to explain the possibility of extra separate dwelling space within the residence.   Thanks for any explanations offered.  Regards – Dinny.

Lincolnshire / Re: Luther Stones b. Minningsby, Lincs, England 1856

There were both a Luther Stones and an Arthur Stones in this family – father, Robert (butcher) -  mother Betsy nee Kitchen (or variants)  viz:

1856 – Luther Stones b. 1856 in Minningsby, Lincs England
1857 – Arthur Stones b. 1857 New Bolingbroke, Lincs England.

A total of 14 children in this family that I was able to find.

At 58 years in 1914, Luther would have been too old for the conflict in 1914-18.
Unable to find him attached to earlier conflicts Britain may have been involved in – so, what happened to him?   Unable to find his death in the UK.

Robert & Betsy had a child almost every year from 1851 onwards.  Two boys were registered in 1856 and 1857 respectively.

I am a descendant of James b. 1855 who had as many children, names reflected in those of his Lincolnshire family, except the Christian name Luther.    A mystery.    Regards – Dinny.

Hi Christine - Apologies to you.  I have just gone through my records and found the surname to be Vagg, not Fagg although some sources refer to the name as Fagg.    I am going with Vagg.  Sorry to mislead.  Regards - Dinny.

Hi Christine - The surname Fagg appears on your list of names.   This surname is connected with my Stones of Luther's generation.   I had a great uncle, Mark Arthur Stones, known as Arthur.  He was the son of one of Luther's brothers and visited his English family on leave whilst serving in France during WW1.  Would you have anything further to say?    Thanks for your replies - regards Dinny.
