Didn't realise it was Sister with a capital S - could she have been a nun?

Was there also a Samuel William born 1838?

His mothers maiden name is shown as Timms.

Possibly another child Mary Ann who is 5 in 1841 if this is the correct family.

Can't see a marriage with those names and quite a gap between children - have you got them on a census as man and wife?

Actually thinking about it Cliff, Jimmie and sister Lizzie could be all one family and Lizzie isn't the sister of Arthur.

This one is tough.

Small piece about Arthur Farrens death in 1933..mentions mourners Cliff, Jimmie and sister Lizzie.

That's a crumb to cling to, now we know he had a sister Lizzie alive after he was.  Not much but any crumb is better than none!

Wouldn't his real name have been used at his funeral though  :-\ and if Lizzie was married she would have a different surname anyway (even supposing the Farren was real  :( )

No mention of any family I suppose  :-\

I looked for "actor" and now "comedian" - there is a comedian married to a vocalist - Arthur Henry Hodgson.  The newspaper bits seem to indicate he was a vocalist as well.

Presume he would have that occupation on a census if that's how he made his living?

Search for that occupation in Leicester to start - I'm convinced Arthur is his proper name!  Farren might be his mothers name.

Another one probably too young but might be a link with the names (clutching at a straw here)

Birth Arthur Farren Barnes Dec 1879 Burton

Anything at all that hints at his age?

I wonder if Farran was his middle name like Arthur Farran something?

There is an Arthur F death in Leicester Dec 1933 surname Stabler.  Only 51 though so probably too young if he started c1890  :-\
