Stirlingshire / David Bellingham
« on: Wednesday 01 February 12 21:14 GMT (UK)  »
David Bellingham died on 8th March 1916 at Barleyhill, Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire. He was aged 75 and he was the husband of Martha McCue.
He died of Dropsy and Cardiac Disease.

His parents were Dawson Bellingham and Mary Kilpatrick.
Although it's listed on his death cert which is a mistake as his mother being Mary Carmichael.

I have been to the Camelon Cemetery office and can find no trace of him being buried in the Falkirk or surrounding cemeteries in the area.

Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to where he could be buried. Maybe outside the area or in a churchyard?

Technical Help / msn e-mail address problem
« on: Monday 19 December 11 17:08 GMT (UK)  »
My friend had an e-mail account ending in msn.com. MSN have now shutdown her e-mail account due to spam being sent from it. They have also taken away her password, and she really needs to use that account. Because it's the one she uses on her web page, and she uses it for her pay pal account. Also loads of her contacts use it to contact her as she runs her own entertainment agency. So I am really clutching at straws here to advise her on how she should overcome this problem she is in. Any answers in solving it would be welcomed.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / 1869 marriage
« on: Tuesday 18 October 11 17:58 BST (UK)  »
I need some help to read this marriage location from 10th October 1869. I have only included the part of both bride and groom. This was from the birth certificate of their son Peter Tinley in West Calder in 1887 on 25th February. I need the profession of the father and also the name place of the marriage.
Peter Tinley and Margaret Boshill were both born in Cavan in Ireland. Peter born 1847 in Stradone, Cavan.

World War One / another mystery soldier

There is an inscription on the postcard on the back of the photograph. It says 12th Royal Scots and has the surname Eades. I will try to attach the photograph and the rear of the postcard in this thread.

Can anyone identify these two uniforms that I have attached in the pictures? As to which regiment they would have been allocated to. I will attach the second photo in another post.

Lanarkshire / Deaths in Dennistoun
« on: Sunday 10 July 11 22:03 BST (UK)  »
I'm just wondering if the following three people died in Dennistoun. Which cemetery could they be buried about?

Robert Thomson died 11 March 1909 Dennistoun.

Mary Ferguson died 17 December 1920 Dennistoun, aged 75.

Jane McOnie Lumsden died 1960 Dennistoun, aged 78.

Stirlingshire / Arthur Abel
« on: Wednesday 29 June 11 22:46 BST (UK)  »
Arthur Abel is buried in the lair of the Ferguson family at Camelon Cemetery. He died in 1912 age 6 months. I cannot find a death of his parents or even a marriage for them. But his parents were Arthur Carnie Abel and Margaret Pettigrew. The surname is spelt Abel on his birth certificate and Able on the lair paperwork. I'm struggling to find out why he would be in the same lair as the Ferguson family. So if anyone can find out anymore on his parents and where they originally came from. Could he have been adopted and his parents died at the same time? All these questions i'm trying to answer.

Lanarkshire / James Ralston from Scotstoun
« on: Friday 15 April 11 17:32 BST (UK)  »
Would like some help in tracing my friend's father's tree backwards. The only info I have at the moment is that he was a James F. Ralston. He married a Margaret Epps in Hendon, Middlesex in September 1945. Now James was born in Scotstoun, Glasgow. I reckon guessing he was 20 when he married. Then that would make him born around 1925 approximately. Looking to see if anyone has any info on the Ralston family above and maybe help in tracing them back in time. He would be outwith any census records. So here's hoping that maybe someone else has him in their family tree and can maybe provide some info on the Ralston family.
If it makes it any easier, James had two brothers called William and Jack Ralston.
