Hi Scouseboy,

Thanks for that I thought I heard of it before but was not sure where .  My husband and I came for a visit to  Hyde in England  and spent a week in Northern Ireland and south Ireland, we really loved the North best  stayed in B/B lovely people  I had contacted an Irish lady from Co Tyrone I think I got info on Internet somewhere, she was a McVey but found out she was not related, We did however find a hardware shop with the name on Mcvey Bros in Cookstown But was then owned by the Browns wish we had gone in and asked about it , to see if they knew anything about the McVeys when it was owned by the McVeys, I did write to a church somewhere once a long time ago and they were going to get back to me but did not about some McVeys living around the area.  I even took a photo of the shop and husband in front of shop.

Hi Scouseboy,

I googled county Tyrone tartans  and found tartans, it seems it is a brownish  or I think Mcvey was blackish. there was so many tartans  and items.  Thankyou for that.
You said one of your  Gt Grandmas was a McCoy from Fivemiletown  where is Fivemiletown? have you tried to find her tartan? I then started to find other tartans from my other ancestors , especially my  maiden surname was Leah, somebody once told me that she thought the surname Leah was from Ireland, I was born in Hyde nr Manchester England.    Now live in Adelaide. wondered if you are irish? its my hubby who  has ancestors from Ireland.
