I'm looking for a Sarah Wagstaff born around 1807 in Manchester.
She married a James Goode in Coventry in 1829.
I have tried searching the IGI and I did find one which is a possible, parents Thomas and Rebecca.
Sarah had many daughters but none called Rebecca which I would have expected to see, not conclusive that this isn't the one but I would like to know if anyone has any other Sarah Wagstaffs that could possibly be her.
I have no further information unfortunately so I know this is going to be a long shot! ::)

Hello,

I am descended from the Wagstaffs of Ayrshire Scotland (hello Stephen and Louise), and I just wanted you all to know that I have started a Wagstaff Surname DNA Project at WorldFamilies.net:

http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/w/wagstaff/index.html

I started this project with 2 participants (my uncle, and a cousin in Scotland) to verify some gaps in my own Wagstaff lineage, but am hoping that eventually we will have enough participants to determine connections between the Wagstaffs of Scotland  and those of  England and Australia as well.

With enough participation, Wagstaffs will be able to tie their lineages together by comparing yDNA between male descendants.  Please check out the web site, and the single lineage I have posted so far for Joseph Wagstaff and descendants.  There is a link to post other lineages, as well, so feel free to post them even without a DNA participant at this time.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank You,
Trish Griffin

Would welcome any details or information on WAGSTAFF(E) family of either Foleshill or Coventry for the period circa 16th century or around the mid 1550's. I have a Will for a William Judde dated 21 Sept 1554 which mentions a Thomas Wagstaffe. I also have a reference to a Johane Judd marrying a Thomas Wagstaffe, probably the same person. Would welcome any material or references to the surname JUDD(E) - David Judd
My g-g-g- grandfather was a William Wagstaff (1777) and he married a Sarah Pickard. They lived in the warwickshire area - Sarah was Williams first wife and from their marriage came several children one of which was Henry Wagstaff. Any connection with you?

Sue

Eliza Wagstaffe

Has anyone got any information on an Eliza Wagstaffe married to Jeremiah Bolsover in Rotherham in 1834.  IGI have her baptism as 1815 but someone else mentioned on the Sheffield FHS that the one name studies had an Eliza baptised in 1803 is this the same Eliza?

 :)

Hi All,

Thank goodness for one name interests!

My 4 x great grandmother was Elizabeth Wagstaff, b. c1772 ? Northants, she married Edward Bird (c1769 possibly of Aynho) on 8 Mar 1790, St Martin's, Oxford.

Sorry it's vague, but it is a huge brickwall - any help would be gratefully received.

Regards
Sian

hi, i am looking for details if possible on a sarah wagstaff
this is what i know

BENJAMIN BUTTERY  B.1736?  D.1824  lived with
     SARAH WAGSTAFF  B.??  D.??

They had two daughters ( no names mentioned )
1 married somebody with the surname MORGAN and had two sons & 1 daughter
1 married someone with the surname WILCOX no issue mentioned

Benjamin also had a marriage to a JANE GRIFFITH , two children. 1789,1791

Benjamin died in monmouth so the time line would be  some where between 1736 -- 1824 and as JANE`s children were late in Benjamins life i think SARAH WAGSTAFF would have been first partner.

any help thankyou.

I am reseaching the Wagstaffs of Stoke/Newcastle Staffs.
I cannot get back any futher than 1800.
My direct line is a William who died in 1843 aged 44. I cannot find his marriage to a Francis Hudson or baptism but believe that a Cornelius is his brother as they both lived in hot lane burslem and both had descendants named James Bishop Wagstaff.
From the census and IGI marriages I have other families that are born about the same time. Again no baptisms seem to exist.
Has anyone any info on this branch of the wagstaffs?

Julie

My great great grandmother was Elizabeth Wagstaff who was born in c. 1834 in Kimbolton, Hunts. She was the daughter of Joseph Wagstaff of Stonely, Kimbolton. She married Joseph Reynolds at Pertenhall, Beds in 1864 and had 4 children.
I have only just started to look into this line of the family and would love to hear from anyone who has any links with this part of the Wagstaff family.
               Bye for now.

Hi, my Grandfather is Richard Wagstaff from Kimbolton, His grandfather was Frank Wagstaff born any where between 1850 and 1870 possibly born in Stonely, by any chance would you know the names of Elizabeths four children?

Thanks for now :-)
