Robert Wilson is Scottish he was an in servitude to Peter Jefferson at the Snowdon estate in Virginia, as well as to Benjamin Harrison at the Berkeley estate. He was in servitude by debt and had been in a debtor's prison. His debt was held and is recorded in the records of Peter Jefferson. The myth in Devil Water of Snowdon is the Jefferson estate, of the the same of Thomas Jefferson's brother and Father. His servitude to the Harrison family was for a term of five years. "Jenny" never came searching Virginia for Robert Wilson, or traveled with Evelyn Byrd. The teenage daughter's of Benjamin Harris and William Byrd ( Evelyn Byrd) were the very best of friends and as were the families. There was a "Jenny" who was also in servitude as a maid to William Byrd. He documented her beatings and sexual abuse is in diaries he kept. All of this is documented. Jenny may have been Irish or Scottish. I believe to honor their Scottish history and to give their children a history they took the name Radclyffe not to be untruthful but as clans did in Scotland. "Ratliff's" in this line in fact are not "Radclyffe's" but Wilson's.
