hi,

I descend from Margaret Atkinson b1843 in Denholme, she married George Calvert in 1861.
I cannot trace the Atkinson back because the father is unknown on her birth certificate, he mum was Elizabeth Atkinson.
I haven't found Elizabeth or Margaret on the 1851 census, by the 1861 Margaret was married.
They did live in the Denholme gate area.
I haven't done any DNA testing, sorry.

I do have an Elizabeth Atkinson who was the daughter of John Atkinson. I will have a look at what I have to see if there could be a link.
I assume you have not found the baptism of Margaret then? Or any further info on Elizabeth?
My Atkinson's were non-conformist, and appear in some of the records in Thornton church. Katharine.
