ROBSON, Parish Registers 1798 on Newcastleton

I'm still searching for information on my ancestor, John Robson.  His death certificate says he was 85 at the time of death in 1884.  All the census records show his birth as Scotland; in 1841 only "S", then more specific over the years.  Until I've seen Newcastleton, Roxburghshire on one. 

John's marriage certificate shows his father's name was Andrew.  I'm hoping a parish register will show his birth or baptism date as well as his mother's name. 

Ironically, his last residence was Newtown, Aspatria, Cumberland.  Supposedly, his father was from Cumberland, but I don't know where.

Would apppreciate any help with finding information on John.  Thank  you,   RedFox.

Thank you, irret.  That was very quick after I could find nothing for years. 

As you say, it is vague.  Where did you find the information, may I ask?  I'm wondering how I've missed it.
