I have some Aireys through marriage....
'Charles William Heap was married 19Feb.1882 at St. Mary's, Lancaster, to Mary Margaret Airey (b.1862). Witnesses were John and Harriet Dobson. Charles W. was described as an ironmonger, and is thought to have done quite well for himself in Croydon (and was described as from Croydon). After Charles' death, probate was granted on 8 April 1921, to Mary Margaret, widow, and Emily Mabe. Effects more than 16,000.
Children... Walter b.1882, Eustace b.1883 in Leyburn and Ethel Constance b.1883 (at no.2, Airthwaite in Kendal, the Airey family home) then Dora Mary b.1886 in Fulham, and Muriel b.1893 also in Fulham.'

Thanks for the info. Spoke to my mother & we can't link it in to our family at present, but they were mostly from Kentmere area, which is not far away.
