Thank you mogsmum. I appreciate any advice - I am not from England and am afraid I know very little of its military sites or holdings. The only research I have done is with microfilmed church and census records available in North America. I did look for Brompton Barracks previously on Google but now you've added more names to the mix so I will get started on them  :)

Hi everyone,
                 Apologies, eillo for butting in on your thread, but does anyone know if  there is any chance this is the barracks where the East India Company Army soldiers were housed before being sent abroad via Chatham?
                    If so, does anyone know where I can find more information on this era, pre--1830's, this would mean.
        No doubt they have been through a few upgrades since,  ;D ;D ;D ;D
