Mari Picton Cwmbach
« on: Thursday 10 November 05 21:39 GMT (UK) »
I would like to find my great great grandmother, Mari (or Mary) Picton.
She lived in a mill in Cwmbach Llanwinio Carmarthenshire or maybe it was Cwmfelin.
She was called 'merch felin Cwmfelin' (the daughter of Cwmfelin mill). She married David (or Dafydd) Evans from Llanwinio Carmarthenshire.
I don't know her birth year but her husband was born in 1825.
Thanks

Hi Eleri,

have you seen this site:

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/CMN/Betws/BetwsByd.html

Cwmfelin Mill is mentioned a few times, but the timeframe is a bit earlier than what you are looking for. However, it may be an indication for the maternal ancestry.

Hwyl,

D

Diolch D

Rwyt ti wedi fy helpu eisoes gyda Hannah Evans, fy hen famgu. Ei mam hi oedd Mari Picton. Yn ôl hanes y teulu ac un fordryb oedd wedi hel yr achau ( mae ei holl waith ar goll erbyn hyn) roedd Mari yn un o deulu General Sir Thomas Picton, Sir Benfro.
I haven't been successful in finding Mari (or Mary) on any census yet.
Thanks
E.

Hi - I know you posted this ages ago, but I am doing a spot of tidying - did you sort this one, or are you still seeking help?

Thank you.
Just come back from holiday and seen this. Sorry for the delay.
Yes I've been in touch with some American friends who have done a great deal of research on the Pictons of Eglwyswen Pembs

Thanks
