1891 navy census
« on: Saturday 12 November 05 14:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I wonder if someone can tell me whether it is possible to look up someone on the 1891 census who at the time was aboard a ship.

I have access to Ancestry and have found my chap in 1901 in Hong Kong but cannot see a way to find people in the navy on the 1891.

Thanks    Sue

Hi Sue!

You've probably checked these out but just in case !! - 1901 seems to be the one with the most information - but apparently you can get the 1891 from TNA

Thank you Annie.

Am I right in thinking that the info I require is not available on Ancestry (ie 1891 Navy )

I just found a couple of odd ships - not that they are not there - I just couldn't find them!! ::)
You might try sending them an email - you never know they might be able to tell you!!
