Hello again Catherine,
Wow! you've helped me so much. Some funny transcribers or what ?
So glad that you found Emily Reta.
The Sarah that you found could well be my one. Her older brother was William Charles Woolridge. So she could be visiting him and his family. I will check it all out.
Charles & Anna Emily had 12 children and 3 died. It is all slowly coming together.
Many thanks again for your help,
Inchworm :) :)

What about these in 1901? Enumerated as "Loveridge" -

RG13/4978 Folio 86 Page 30
107 Cairn Street, St John, Central Cardiff
Charles 57 Labourer Dorset Shaftesbury
Emily 55 Wilts Salisbury
Isaac 12 School Dorset Shaftesbury

Living next door with husband Ebenezer is a 19 year old Hetty Davies, (also born Shaftesbury)I notice in 1891 your Charles and Emily had a 9 year old daughter "Hessy". Could this be the same girl?

Regards,
Catherine

Hi
Hello,
Charles Woolridge b.1839 and his family lived around Shaftesbury and Motcombe for many years. Their last child (I think it was the last) was called Merthyr George Woolridge and Bapt in Shaftsbury in 1887. The family then just disappear. With a name like Merthyr, do you think they could have gone to Wales. Can't find them in 1901 either.
Any help really appreciated.

Regards,
Inchworm  :)

 Hi

Interesting I'm looking for Charles Wooldridge too..can't seem to locate him.He was "our "Hetty Woolridge"s father ,I believe too,,but I can't find him either. Our family background was mostly in Cardiff Wales ..we are not sure bout Hettys side either, yet.,,re Charles Wooldridge.
My name is Darryl I'm a girl living in Canada living  with my Family from Cardiff Wales,,since 1966
I have  a marriage record also of Hetty Wooldridge who married Ebenezer Davies in 1901 . In Cardiff Wales .,that is our relative.
Hetty Woolridge ,,is my Great Great Grandma ,yet deceased ,,her name was Hetty Davies because she married Ebenezer Davies,,my Great,Great Grandpa,
,,.my Mother Pam nee "Davies" , believes Hetty died around 1962"
One of Hettys and Ebenezer Davies ,sons , "Edgar George Davies " is my Mums ,Dad,  . He is also deceased now.
Also Edgar George Davies had two sisters ,Rhoda and Beatrice, who were my Aunties..I called them.
After speaking with my Mum ,she said she knew she heard ,that Hetty had a Sister  named Holda,,,re the Holdaway" mention in someone's notes here.Mum can't remember what Hetty was short for.
My Mum mentioned that "before " I mentioned ANY names, she said "Holda" Coincidence? ..so thought I drop a line in here.

Write me back ,,hope I figure this out too.
   Thanks. Darryl

Hello,
Charles Wooldridge was born 1839 Shaftesbury, Dorset and died 1913 Cardiff. He was the son of Lot. His wife Anna Emily had 12 children. Hetty was number 10 out of the 12.
Charles was a baker in Shaftesbury and later moved to Wales.

I hope that this helps.  :)

Interesting I've found this, down the list where it states the children of Arthur and Annie Wooldridge, my dad George born in 1908 is on there, it would be nice to chat with distant relatives that I don't know about.

Hi there. This is an old post that I started many years ago when I was looking into this family. I am connected through Lot Woolridge.
Am I right in thinking that George had 4 children by his first wife and then married again later.
