Hi Chris

I would like Thomas (Junior) WILLSHER  (born 1842) in 1891 in Salehurst with his wife Mary please as I did not know he existed until you kindly found him for me in 1861 census.
 :)

The only information that I have on Thomas WILLSHER (born 1842) is as followed:

Census 1861 and 1881

That in 1868 he married Mary Matilda BOURNE(Born 1846 in Brede) in Rye district - from FREE BDM

That he query died in 1906 in Ticehurst aged 64.

If you trace him on any other census I would be most appreciative.

Once again many thanks for finding a missing link.

Helen

Hi Chris

Thank you for all your hard work. :D :D

You have given Thomas WILLSHER (born 1842) on the census from 1861,1871,1891 and 1901. He was an extra child and now you have given  another child Frank. I am sure that he is not at home is 1881 and Hugh is home in 1881.

I will have to check further.

As Thomas ( junior) is not at home in 1851 census with Thomas (Senior) and Lucy WILLSHER, do you think that I am correct in assuming that at age 9 he was away a school?

I am going to finish now. Many thanks for all the help with the WILLSHER name.

Helen

Hi Ellen

Yes, you are right, he was away at school.

HO107/ 1619/ Folio 338/ Page 5 - Highgate, Hawkhurst, Kent.

School with 22 pupils run by George Hopkins, School Master & Bank Manager.

Thomas Willsher, 9, born Ticehurst, Sussex, Pupil
Henry S Willsher, 10, born Etchingham, Sussex, Pupil

It does not say if these two boys are related - but they probably were.

Hope that helps
