Yes,

Its definately not an easy one to sort out. I'm not used to 2nd marriages etc. But I guess I will be soon.

Interesting.

Please don't take the 2nd 1851 for granted. Just a possible. I'm a little surprised now - I can see a matching John Hudson, a lodgr in Norwich Norfolk and - wait for it - he's a police officer now! I'm getting confused...

Don't know about them. I can't see Frances Hudson or Esther Hudson under that name in 1861, and by 1871 John Hudson is a widowed police detective.
Either 1851 was not the right Fanny or they just separated.

Hi Tanja,

Don't worry, I assume all these connections as mere possibilities at this point anyway. I appreciate your help. Any data is good data as far as I'm concerned.

I am trying to assemble that portion of the Rivett tree now...using what you've provided. Its a great leap from what I had before.

Sorry I don't have anything else to help. My family is the Birchall's with the Rivett name being an offshoot, though I am still interested in sorting the Fanny Rivett connection out.

Hi Mike,

I've had a look at your Birchall's.  Can you let me know which you already have?

Hi Jean,

I will try.

My Grandfather was John Birchall (b.1882) . He had two brothers that I know of: Henry Jr. (Harry) (b.1886) and James (b.1889-d.1910), and a sister Lilly (b.1897). I have photos of this family. Their parents were Henry Birchall (b.1861) and Mary Jane (Rivett) (b.1859) (mar. April 7, 1881-no cert yet).

Henry's (b.1861) father was John Birchall (b.1822, Wigan) who was married to an Ann Unknown (b.1823, Newton-le-willows). Per www.familysearch IGI.

All of this info was assembled via census info of which I have 1901/1881 confirmed. I know the household was 9 Green Street in Farnworth during the later years.

Henry/Mary Jane, John, Henry, James, and Lilly(Lillian) all emmigrated to Chicago around 1908. I have them all living in one household in Chicago in 1910.

I have an 1851 census of a John (b.1823, Wigan) and Ann Birchall (b.1824), Newton. The ages and birthplaces seem correct matches (unsure of address). But, it indicates their children as: Margaret (b.1847, Wigan) and Ellen (b.1850, Bolton). I have not found confirmation of Margaret and Ellen as being siblings of those of John/Ann's other known children (Henry and  John B.)

I suppose an 1861 and 1871 census of the John/Ann household might include Margaret and Ellen but I don't have those years, at least not in front of me. I havn't done much on this in months and my data insn't as organized as well as it could be yet.

Hope this helps. Sorry if its a bit disjointed. I just havn't ordered birth certs on the Birchalls yet.

As I look at it, if I could connect Margaret and Ellen with the known brothers (Henry and John B.) that would be a great help, Then I could trace up the additional siblings trails.

Thanks

Mike
