House history
« on: Sunday 05 September 04 12:06 BST (UK) »
I hope someone can help me with this question.
While I have some experience of family history research, I would now like to start researching the history of a house.
Has anyone any tips on how to do this please? ???

I know if you go to   [http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/]  you can search for houses, just list the number and street and it will tell you if the house was there in 1901. ( i have found some relatives this way).  This is a pay per view site and you can buy vouchers at your local library.

I don't know of any other site where you can search just for an address, normally all searches are by surnames,

Hope this helps
