Christopher you are a mine of information. All I need is the time. I have promised myself that i will spend some more time on it. It is becoming like a drug and I just have to keep digging

Sounds good to me Wini.
Chris, the poor gentlemen would have to be in a terrible fix for that. I wouldn't know my wicket from a blackthorn bush!

Pat, Do not worry about it too much. You are a bit like myself and I am sure they will not call upon either of us. I wonder if they would like a couple of After Dinner Speakers on the subject of Genealogy. I hear those guys are paid quite well and a free meal is thrown in too.

Christopher
I hope your after dinner speech is as entertaining as your Rootschat.
I still haven't found any of my Reid and McNeice relatives
Looks as if they may be from Antrim.

Hi there!

Really late to this post!

I'm looking for a Samuel Reid (born c. 1780/1790) who was married to a Margaret Shaw. On his son's Scottish marriage certificate in 1858 both he and Margaret are marked as deceased and Samuel's occupation is noted as a farmer. His son, John, was born c. 1813 in Ireland though I have no idea where and no idea where Samuel and Margaret also came from. I see on the Ros Davies list there are some Samuels who are farmers but no way of telling if he is one of them :(

Strangely, the Reid's are my paternal line but a Henry McNeice (1864-1935) married my maternal Great Aunt, Allice/Alice McCoy (1866-1939) in Lisburn in 1893 and then moved to Glasgow.
