Hi Again MaryA,

Just as a side note. The William age 7 looks good only because he is the oldest. During WWI my grandfather William Ivor JONES was a lieutenant in the Welsh Regiment, 13th bn, 68th Division and received the Military Cross for bravery in the last days of the war in France, and during WWII he was in the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) (transport division) as quartermaster sargeant, lieutenant & then Captain.

There are a number of entries for William Ivor Jones in the medal listings on the National Archives site.  You might know whether any of them are your man.
