Irene,

Here they are from 1851, living in Compton:

James, Head, 50, Agricultiral Labourer, b Compton
Sarah, Wife, 50, Agricultural Labourer , Sonning
Mary, Daur, 22, Agricultural Labourer, Sonning
Harriot, Daur, 20, Agricultural Labourer, Sonning
Geo, Son, 12, Agricultural Labourer, Compton
Alfred, Son, 9, Scholar, Compton

I'll have a look at the 1841 images if I get a chance later tonight.

Do you want later information as well ?

Regards
Harry

Irene,

They were easier to find than I thought :

1841 Compton Pava

Name, Age, Occupation

James, 40, Ag Lab
Sarah, 40
Mary, 13
Harriot, 11
James, 10
William, 8
George, 4
Alfred, 1 week

There are other CHALLIS families in the village:

William, 65, Ag Lab
Fanny, 65
Harriot, 10

Fanny is not born in County

next door is

Fendiando (male), 65, Ag Lab (I think that is the firstname)

William, 35, Ag Lab
Maria, 35
Mary, 10
Rachel, 10
Ambrose, 9
Martha, 8
Eliza, 7
Thomas, 6
Henry, 1
Isaac, 6 weeks
Maria, 5

All born in county unless otherwise shown.
Hope this helps - have fun

Harry

Very helpful Harry, thank you.

I'll be adding to my Family Tree  at last.  That has filled in some of the gaps.

Hi

Mary Challis b 1827 was my G.grandmother She moved to Compton when she married.  I would be interested in any info you might have. I may be able to help you with info too.

Mary's family seem to have moved between Lambourne Sonning and Compton.  She had many siblings and they are scattered, mostly in the Berkshire area.

James Challis was son of William and Francis and christened Compton, one of 10.
There is a double Woodage connection with this Challis family (Mary and James), and a link to Butlers of Goring.   I haven't followed all the families. Can help if you send me a PM.
