Hi lnr,

I've found a probate for a John ALLINSON, shearer, died 19 Oct 1912 at Coalgate (this is west of Christchurch in the South Island). He died intestate. Filed 22 Nov 1912 at Wellington Court.

Two John ALLINSON's arrived in NZ via Melbourne, one aged 24 in 1855 arrived Nelson on the Spray, the other aged 34, a married miner from SCT, arrived Nelson on the Alhambra.

Came across this by accident.  My father, John Thomas Allinson, travelling to NZ to assist his uncle.  He was there about 3 years.  He was from Weardale, Co. Durham.  Born 1908 and died aged 96

Regards

Nigel  Allinson
