thanks Alli

I've searched on there too - I'm sure I had looked for Isaac & Honour's marriage, but clearly my search terms or my eyes failed... I shall look again to get the details & to learn ;)

no Stradbroke baptisms on familyhistoryonline though, I've looked  :(

cheers
Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, I believe we are cousins as I'm descended from Isaac Adams Ward's younger brother Jacob Ward.

The Stradbroke parish register entry for Isaac's baptism records his Christian names as 'Isaac Ward base born' and his only parent as Honor Adams.  Honor married Isaac Ward the following year.  I think it's a fair inference that Isaac Ward Adams was Isaac Ward's son.

I have a lot of information about the family going back to the mid-1700s, which I'd be happy to share if you don't already have it.  I'd also be interested in knowing about Isaac Adams descendents.  Hope we can make contact.

Rob

This is what I have found

From the Suffolk Bpt Index 1813-1900:

Entry 658 Stradbroke Reg - Bpt
Isaac Ward ADAMS Bpt 12 Sep 1830 bb son of Honor ADAMS born 17 Nov 1829.  The entry is then crossed out with a note to see entry 674

Entry 674: 12 Sep 1830 Isaac Ward ADAMS bb son of Honor ADAMS

No mention of who father may have been but it was very common for father or mothers surname to be used as part of the christian names.

From the Suffolk Marriage Index 1813-37:

Honor ADAMS married Isaac WARD 1 Nov 1830 Stradbroke All Saints - neither are noted as being widowed previously.

From the Suffolk Burial Index 1538 - 1900:
All Stradbroke All Saints
Honor WARD buried 9 Jul 1843 age 38
Mary Ann WARD buried 10 Mar 1844 age 10 mths da of Honor & Isaac
Isaac WARD buried 8 Jul 1849 age 47

Hi,

I'm also researching the Ward branch of my family tree.
We may have a possible connection.

In reverse order;

Hector Donald Ward 1900 (my grandfather), plus 7 siblings
Alfred Charles Ward 1863 ( his father)
Charles Ward 1832
Isaac Ward 1802

I'd love to share any information you may have and fill in any gaps.
Would like to go back as far as possible.

Regards
Ward, Kempson, Donovan, Kiesler, Sutherland, Anesbury, Haines, Crowle, Smith, Benfold, Binstead, Bairstow, Tullock, Wallace, Wood, Oakland, Parker, Payne, Stokes, Botten, Stacy, Brooks, Harmer, Sinclair
